One-dimensional catena – polymer [[ bis(µ-hydroxido) bis(aqua) (O1 : O1’) Sodium(1)] bis-{(µ-hydroxido)(hydroxido) 2 (2,6-pydc-k -N, O1, O2)Cu(II)}]

Abstract
The new title one-dimensional hetero-tri-nuclear Cu2–Na coordination polymer
[NaCu2(Hpydc)2(H2O)2(OH)3]n [1] was isolated as a green solid by heating a mixture of 2,6-
pyridine dicarboxylic acid with Cu (NO3)2 in methanol in the presence of NaOH. The
coordination polymer has been characterized by FTIR and X-ray single crystal diffraction. It
consists of two dependent Copper (II) centers bridged by a hydroxyl group and each bridged
by sodium cation through a hydroxy bridge and carboxylate oxygen-atoms of HL- ligand
(where H2pydc = pyridine 2,6- dicarboxylic acid).
